Most law firms are transitioning to paperless these days.

Firm-wide scanning—or moving paper into a digital filing system—has some obvious benefits.

For one, less paper.

But most of all, going paperless leads also to more efficient access to information, more security, and a lot of space saving ...

However, moving to paperless also entails in most cases that the whole document management system has to be rethought.

Additionally, quality control and integrity checks have to be put in place before one can really go to the final step of starting to shred paper.

In any case, going paperless is probably one of the best ways to do the most repetitive and sometimes tedious tasks more quickly, thereby freeing time for the more interesting endeavors.
