News: More Layoffs Coming for Staff at Big Law Firms

It is not easy being a paralegal these days.

It seems that the trend of law firms reducing their permanent staff positions in favor of inshore and outshore outsourcing is not going to end any time soon.

After Dewey's demise and the staff layoffs at Bingham McCutchen some weeks ago, ALM’s Daily Business Review is reporting today that Greenberg Traurig is laying off staff to achieve 4-to-1 attorney-secretary ratio.

However, the firm is not confirming the layoffs, saying that "as a matter of policy we do not discuss departing employees."
